Floating Spectrum album cover artwork
Between January and March 2019 I worked on the artwork for Floating Spectrum’s debut album.
The creation of the artwork required writing a custom painting software. The painting process involved controlling 16 physical knobs and a graphic tablet. It was a collaboration between the author of the tool and the tool itself.
I sampled the colors used from fallen leafs in a jungle in Taiwan. Before photographing the leafs I sorted them by their different state of decay, referring to “growth and decay”, a concept found in several of the songs in the album.
