This is a semi-automated backup of my old Tumblr account.

Recursive: use the last rendered frame as the texture for the current frame, mapped to a distorted noise elevation mesh. In the 90s this took hours to render on an Amiga computer using Real3D. Now in Processing it happens in real time.

Strange. In the photo stream Tumblr scales down the image from 540px to 500px, and then stretches it back to 540px via CSS. But in my Tumblr page there’s no scaling, it shows the right size…

a thousand rectangles - quick sketch before going to bed :)
Note: a more precise and descriptive title would be “50.000 rectangles with z depth”. I was too sleepy to make the title and the shape count match :)
Post Roma

Post Roma is an installation that features 3D graphics generated in real time. The behaviours, lights, colors and sounds are influenced by Twitter events. Certain tweets cause the installation to reply with a haiku and a snapshot of the virtual world. The walls of the room are covered with 63 large displays, and the reflective floor and ceiling make the immersive effect more impressive. Two computers run the show, one of them with a powerful graphics card connected to a hardware video splitter that sends video over IP to the displays, which can be adjusted one by one to achieve the right crop and color balance. A web version of the installation, ported to three.js, can be found online at http://postmatter.com/production/postroma/#/ (works best on Chrome)
Now you know why I didn’t post much lately :)

A p5.js sketch I did for Uncontext. It receives real time data via a websocket, and uses that data to alter positions, rotations, colors, shapes, etc.
Twin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphex_twin#Pseudonyms), that’s where the title of the sketch comes from :)
