I created a sketch that runs five of these at the same time, each shape maintaining the distance to the other shapes (to avoid overlap). The 2D contours are used as cross sections of the tubes shown in the image. I didn’t use any libraries for mesh generation because I was enjoying the challenge (how to build a surface out of two curves with different number of vertices).
The render was done in Blender, and some color adjustment in Darktable.
